Covestro contributes to the success story of Vorwerk’s Thermomix® TM5 by supplying high-quality thermoplastics - they were tailored to meet the demands of modern household appliances.

Vorwerk and Covestro have maintained a successful partnership for many years based on the common objective of both companies to market innovative, sophisticated products that unite high practicality with an unusually long service life.

The latest example is the new Thermomix® TM5 food processor from Vorwerk. With its overwhelming popularity and high demand on international markets, it already is a success story. Covestro contributed to its success by supplying Vorwerk with premium thermoplastics, custom-made to meet the demands on today's modern household appliances.

Excellent supplier relationship
Covestro’s supply reliability and the quality of the material are very important to Vorwerk, which in October 2015 recognized Covestro as an “A Supplier” with a zero defect rate. “With our Vorwerk quality classifications, we recognize our best suppliers making key contributions to our success,” said Vorwerk's strategic purchasing agent, Carsten Schlegel. “We have an outstanding relationship with Covestro in this regard.”

“We are delighted by the recognition. It provides further proof that we at Covestro are on the right track in our efforts to work with and for our customers in developing truly helpful solutions,” said Dirk Neumann, Covestro's key account manager for Vorwerk, of the award. “We would like to thank Vorwerk for their trust in us, and everyone involved for their tremendous dedication.”

Custom materials
The collaboration with Vorwerk is entirely in keeping with Covestro's vision of making the world a brighter place. As one of Vorwerk's oldest partners, Covestro supplies the company with premium engineering thermoplastics that meet the high quality demands imposed on Vorwerk's premium Thermomix® product. The materials produced by Covestro are durable, tough and have a unique, quality appearance thanks to their excellent surface properties. Furthermore, they boast high dimensional stability and offer extensive design freedom.

For more than half a century now, multifunctional Thermomix® food processors from Vorwerk have been popular appliances in households worldwide. To date, over a million TM5s have been shipped to customers. The machine has a Guided Cooking function that helps to simplify the preparation of delicious meals. It provides step-by-step instructions for the recipes stored on the Recipe Chip; all the cook needs to do is to weigh and add the ingredients. The times, temperatures and speeds for each step are set automatically.
